The Inspira Advantage MED Scholarship Application Process

To apply for the Inspira Advantage MED Scholarship, all applicants must complete these steps:

2. Create a Two-Minute Video

Submit a two-minute video of yourself answering the following questions:

Why do you want to become a physician?
How do you plan to make a difference in your community/region/world by becoming a physician?
How will the Inspira Advantage MED Scholarship help you achieve your goals?

Video submission requirements:

We will judge your video based on the quality of your answers, not the quality of your video –your phone camera/webcam is perfect.
Transitions, graphics, and other stylistic extras aren’t necessary.
Videos are to be shared on the social media platform of your choice. The description of your video must include the hashtags #InspiraAdvantage and #InspiraAdvantageMEDScholarship, and a link to our scholarship page (https://www.inspiraadvantage.com/scholarship).
The post must be made public using your real social media account. This video must be kept public for at least one year after submission.
Please share a link to your public video in your application form.

3. Write a 250-Word Essay Sharing Details About Your Unique Identity

Please write a 250-word response answering the prompt: “How does your unique background/identity/experiences inform your future role as a physician?”

*Note: Our scholarship team uses your essay to contextualize your application. These responses won’t be shared with anyone outside our team; you can write authentically about your background, identity, and experiences. Please upload your essay response in the text box provided in the application form.

4. Complete the Inspira Advantage MED Scholarship Application

The direct link to your video
Your 250-word essay response
An answer to the question: “Where did you hear about the Inspira Advantage MED Scholarship?”

Selection Criteria/Selection Steps

Inspira Advantage is dedicated to transparency in our scholarship selection process. We will select winners following this framework:

1. Your video and essay carry equal weight in our selection process. Your video is judged based on the substance and quality of your responses. Essays are evaluated based on content, writing style, and flow.

2. We will consider how many likes, reshares, and comments your video receives (sharing on more platforms is beneficial).

3. We will select the winner based on whose video demonstrates the most compelling reason for how the MED Scholarship will help them realize their goals and the thoughtfulness of how they plan to make an impact in their communities/the world; winners will also be selected based on the narrative quality of their essay.

4. The winner will be announced on our scholarship page.

Inspira Advantage offers the MED Scholarship twice per year. Fall and spring application windows are as follows:
