Aanika's fascination with the medical field began during her undergraduate years when she was part of a breast cancer research lab for four years. This experience solidified her interest in oncology and led her to medical school at Johns Hopkins University. Adam holds a BA in Politics (Pomona College) and is a first-year student at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He is heavily involved in the American Student Dental Association and the Harvard dental admission process. He is interested in leveraging his ASDA connections and a non-traditional path to dentistry to help pre-dents at Inspira. Besides Harvard, Adam was also accepted by UPenn, UCLA, and UCSF with merit scholarships.
During his gap year, Adam worked full-time as a Jesse M. Unruh Fellow for the California State Assembly to analyze over 50 pieces of legislation that would expand healthcare access, provide COVID-19 relief, and broaden scopes of practice for medical and dental professionals in California. Currently, he is the legislative liaison and advocacy chair for ASDA at the Harvard Chapter and in District 1 (New England).
Adam is interested in working with all kinds of pre-dents, especially non-STEM majors with unique paths to dentistry and STEM majors struggling to find ways to distinguish themselves. During her gap year, she was the Hiring Manager for ScribeAmerica for seven varying medical specialties and managed and mentored 45 employees, most of whom were pre-med or pre-PA. As a pediatric neurosurgery PA transitioning to urology PA, she held several leadership roles in surgical safety research and child advocacy.
