Dr. Nemcevic is a dermatology resident at NYU Langone who graduated with an Alpha Omega Alpha distinction from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. During a research fellowship, Dr. Nemcevic published 40+ papers, posters, and chapters in dermatology. She previously served on the University of Miami admissions committee interviewing prospective medical students and is currently an interviewer for her residency program.
Born and raised in Belgrade, Serbia, Dr. Nemcevic's journey began when she moved to the United States for college. As a student-athlete on a full athletic scholarship, she excelled in tennis, playing as high as number 1 in singles on the women's team at the University of Washington. Dr. Nemcevic's dedication and hard work extended beyond the court, as she graduated with a BS in cellular, molecular, and developmental biology, achieving an excellent GPA and earning several NCAA athletic-academic awards for her outstanding performance.
Driven by her passion for medicine, Dr. Nemcevic pursued her medical education at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She distinguished herself as a top performer in her class, graduating with AOA distinction and receiving numerous research and excellence awards. During a research year fellowship at the Phillip Frost Department of Dermatology, Dr. Nemcevic conducted both bench and clinical research in dermatology, and her work led to the publication of over 40+ papers, posters, and book chapters covering topics such as wound healing, hair loss, cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, and nail disease.
After completing her transitional internship year at Osceola Medical Center-UCF Florida in Orlando, Dr. Nemcevic started her residency in dermatology at NYU Langone in Manhattan, NY, an internationally recognized program renowned as one of the leading dermatology programs in the world.
Throughout her educational journey, Dr. Nemcevic has been deeply committed to mentoring aspiring students, including those facing challenges as international students. Dr. Jablinski’s journey to vet school started when she was a young girl on the family ranch, learning to raise cattle and angora goats with her uncles. She started spending time in mixed practice veterinary clinics when she was 14 years old, and attended the Veterinary Enrichment Camp at Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences.
Building on her passion for veterinary medicine, Dr. Jablinski attended Murray State University on a full-ride scholarship, where she was an NCAA athlete, honors student, student government senator, and campus ministry leader. As a veterinary student, she served as a class leader for student care. It was during her food animal rotating internship at Texas A&M that Dr. Jablinski discovered her unique gift for teaching and passion for working up challenging medicine cases, which started with a Zebu calf showing signs of internal bleeding.
At Kansas State University during her residency, Dr. Jablinski had the privilege of presenting her research on bull reproduction and infectious disease in front of several audiences in both poster and PowerPoint format. This research was also published in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Upon graduation, Dr. Jablinski taught food animal medicine & surgery at Iowa State University. This included teaching and advising fourth-year veterinary students during their clinical year and third-year students in the food animal medicine course. These subjects included hepatic pathology, neurology, dermatology, and camelid medicine. She would often use gamification and other interactive methods to teach students difficult concepts or improve success on the NAVLE. She was part of a team that received a grant for 3D printed models to teach veterinary students in their second and third years. She was also an active member of the Iowa Veterinary Medical Association.
From there, Dr. Jablinski wanted to diversify her experience to be an advisor to veterinary students with varying goals, so she landed in private mixed practice in the southwest U.S. She works on various species, including horses, cattle, dogs, cats, sheep, goats, llamas, alpacas and pigs. She enjoys getting to know each student and their joys outside of the vet clinic.
Dr. Jablinski discovered during vet school that the best way for her to study and communicate ideas is through visualization and art. She enjoys incorporating this tactic into her advising role as she discovers more about students' personas. With her unique experiences in several avenues within the veterinary field, she loves supporting less-than-traditional routes to help students achieve their vision of the veterinarian they want to become, while paying attention to the important details in an application packet that make a candidate competitive. She values the importance of incorporating every passion into the life that students want to have as a veterinarian and beyond.

Dr. Zilkha was valedictorian of her high school and was accepted into an eight-year BA/MD program at Washington University in St. Louis (WashU). After only three years, she graduated from WashU summa cum laude with a BA in Spanish literature and a biology minor. She was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and received the Sherman Eoff Memorial Award for excellence in Spanish. After graduation, she returned home to New York for a year, where she worked as a tri-lingual receptionist (English, Spanish, Japanese) while applying to medical school.
Dr. Zilkha already had the opportunity to attend the Washington University School of Medicine through the BA/MD program, but she decided to also apply to a few other top medical schools that were closer to home. She was accepted to the Yale School of Medicine, the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and Columbia School of Medicine, but decided to return to WashU after she was awarded two full-tuition merit scholarships (the Olin Fellowship for Women and the Distinguished Alumni Scholarship) with a stipend.
After that, Dr. Zilkha matched at her top residency choice, which was Schneider Children's Hospital (now Cohen Children's Medical Center) of the Long Island Jewish Medical Center. During residency, she won an award for her research on latex allergy in pediatric housestaff. After residency, she did part of a fellowship in allergy/immunology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. After pregnancy complications that disrupted her fellowship, she decided to instead transition to pediatric private practice.
She spent 20 years in pediatric private practice before pivoting to pediatric telemedicine. Dr. Zilkha has worked for multiple large telemedicine companies, but her biggest accomplishment was creating and launching the pediatric telemedicine division for Allied Physicians Group in New York. Once the pandemic hit New York, Dr. Zilkha scaled Allied Pediatric Telemedicine as well as trained physicians in telemedicine across the United States. Dr. Zilkha was personally responsible for bringing pediatric telemedicine to millions of U.S. children.
Dr. Zilkha joined the staff of Hofstra University's Zucker School of Medicine (ZSOM), and then, after helping her daughter apply and get accepted to medical school, her interest in medical school admissions grew. It was then that she joined the ZSOM admissions committee.
Dr. Zilkha is extremely passionate about helping the next generation achieve their dreams of becoming medical professionals. She then attended the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in NYC and graduated with distinction in research. While at Mount Sinai, Dr. Kessler was the recipient of numerous awards, including a merit-based tuition scholarship for all four years of medical school.
While in medical school, Dr. Kessler founded the Special Forces Neurosurgery Collaborative with neurosurgeons from Mount Sinai, Cleveland Clinic, and the leadership of the US Green Beret Foundation, which is an organization that spearheads neurosurgery research initiatives geared towards addressing the unique healthcare needs of America's Special Forces warriors. Dr. Rice continued his education at the University of Texas Medical Branch, where he earned his MD and was awarded the Evelyn S. Cowles Scholarship and the Gold Humanism Award. He spent two years serving on the admissions committee, where he evaluated applications, interviewed candidates, and contributed to the decision-making process, providing him with insights into the qualities that top medical programs seek in applicants. After graduation, he completed a transitional year at John Peter Smith Hospital before beginning his dermatology residency at Washington University in St. Louis.
Dr. Rice has served on the admissions committee throughout his residency training, including his tenure as Chief Resident. His responsibilities have grown to include not only applicant evaluation but also mentoring and strategic planning, ensuring that candidates are well-prepared for the challenges of medical school and beyond.
With six years of coaching and mentorship experience, Dr. Rice has guided many students through the medical school and residency application process. He earned his MD with highest distinction from the State University of New York- Downstate College of Medicine and received numerous honors and awards. Neil was also awarded the Paul DeWolf Award and Patrick John Niland Award, was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honors Society and Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society, and graduated with Distinction in Research Honors. He was actively involved in leadership initiatives and interdisciplinary research, including the utilization of artificial intelligence as a means of augmented physician diagnosis and biostatistical projects and clinical research investigating various oncologic theories, especially pertaining to the intersection of immunology and oncology. He served as an interviewer and admissions representative for three years during his time at Michigan. Neil has 20+ published articles and has presented his team's work 30+ times at national and international conferences.
