During her undergraduate years, Dr. Mika participated in various activities, including working in a small mammal virome research lab, tutoring students in organic chemistry, tailgating, and hiking with her greyhound named Gino. As a vet student, she helped rehabilitate wildlife, completed a course in veterinary business management, made pottery, and adopted a bearded dragon named Gusto.
Dr. Mika began her studies at Pennsylvania State University, where she majored in Veterinary and Biomedical Science and minored in Poultry and Avian Science. Driven by her passion for veterinary medicine, she went on to attend the prestigious University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. Participating in an internship at an equine referral hospital, she gained hands-on experience managing emergency cases and assisting with surgeries daily. During her time at UPenn, she developed a particular interest in equine medicine, which has since become a central focus of her clinical work.
As a coach, Dr. Mika is committed to providing her students with the guidance, support, and resources they need to succeed in the veterinary school application process. Before residency, Dr. Ng completed his Bachelor’s in biological sciences at the University of Pittsburgh and his DMD at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, graduating with honors in Community Oral Health and Care of Medically Complex Patients.
Passionate about providing care to underserved communities, Dr. Ng was a part of the National Health Service Corps and worked for two years as a general dentist in Frisco, CO, providing care to mountain communities nestled around Colorado’s famous ski resorts. He has returned to academia to pursue his specialty in orthodontics.
As a coach, Dr. Ng strongly believes in becoming an ally and partner to help applicants achieve their goals. He draws upon his experiences in mentorship and teaching both undergraduate and pre-doctoral students to foster and showcase an applicant’s unique traits. Originally from the greater Pittsburgh area, Dr. Warburton completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Pittsburgh, majoring in computational chemistry with a focus on biology. During college, he conducted research through the Department of Biomedical Informatics, publishing a paper in Scientific Reports on long non-coding RNA SNHG7 and its impact on breast cancer. Demonstrating exceptional academic prowess, Dr. Warburton graduated in just three years before proceeding directly to medical school at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Alongside his academic pursuits, Dr. Warburton co-founded Retina Technologies Inc., a startup valued at $12 million. As the former Chief Technology Officer, he led the development of a revolutionary approach to vision care. The company aims to disrupt the field by leveraging virtual reality, retinal imaging, and machine learning on a portable platform, providing affordable, accessible, and accurate vision screening across the United States. Under his leadership, the company conducted four clinical trials, and submitted three provisional patents and one non-provisional PCT patent, with Dr. Warburton personally overseeing the development of both hardware and software components.

Throughout her career, Dr. Garcia has gained extensive experience in various veterinary settings, including walk-in practices, small animal practices, and shelter medicine. As the medical director for a non-profit shelter, she specializes in wellness and prevention, high-volume spay and neuter surgery, and animal welfare. One of her greatest strengths is her approachability and transparency. She also has a knack for writing and precision.

Dr. Clift earned her Bachelor of Science in marine biology and chemistry from the University of Tampa, followed by her DVM from Colorado State University. This diverse educational background, coupled with her practical experience, positions her as an excellent guide for students interested in veterinary medicine, including those with a focus on marine life.
Dr. Clift's passion for marine conservation and veterinary medicine grew throughout her varied experiences. After completing her undergraduate degree, she spent three years in Costa Rica as a marine conservationist, working with sea turtles and fisheries. This hands-on experience in conservation work solidified her decision to pursue veterinary medicine as a way to combine her interests in conservation, marine animals, and animal health.
Her strengths lie in her ability to provide insights into both the academic and practical aspects of pursuing a career in veterinary medicine, especially in specialized fields like marine animal care. During her time at Colorado State University's veterinary school, she participated in competitive programs such as AQUAVET and SeaVet, adding to her marine animal medical training. Before medical school, Dr. Podury lived solo in Japan for two months and documented her time in a travel sketchbook. Her book grows as she travels more—most recently, to Iceland and Denmark.
Dr. Podury is currently an Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery resident at the University of California San Diego. Before beginning her residency, she earned a BA in neuroscience from Cornell University, where she was a Hunter R. Rawlings Presidential Research Scholar, Barry M. Goldwater Scholar Honorable Mention, and a Phi Beta Kappa member. She earned her MD from Harvard Medical School in the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology Program.
During her time at Cornell, Dr. Podury earned several awards in recognition of her research, including the Einhorn Discovery Grant, the Zuckerman Prize for Excellence in Bioengineering Research, the Ewing Family Service Award, and the Menschell Cornell Commitment Award. While studying neural circuits, Archana worked at a syringe exchange in Ithaca, New York, where she witnessed firsthand the mechanics of court-based drug rehabilitation. Listening to patients’ stories deepened her conviction that science alone could not capture multiple dimensions of health and disease, which paved her path toward medicine.
At Harvard, Dr. Podury received $90,000 in scholarship support as a Paul & Daisy Soros Fellow and David Margin Graduate Student Leadership Fellow; she was also a recipient of the Massachusetts Medical Society Information Technology Award and Freeberg Student Research Award. Her work has centered on developing technologies to improve patient’s quality of life. In the Boyden Lab at MIT, she used optical imaging methods to characterize circuit dysfunction in human brain organoid models of neurodevelopmental disease, culminating in a publication in Nature.
Dr. Podury worked in the Dhand Lab at Brigham and Women’s Hospital to apply network science tools to understand how patients’ social environments influence their health outcomes during disability. She is currently working in the Otopathology lab at Massachusetts Eye & Ear to study implant options for patients with sensorineural hearing loss and is applying machine learning methods to study surgical outcomes.

A true New Yorker at heart, Dr. Winchester loves a good everything bagel with scallion cream cheese and enjoys long runs in Central Park. She is also a fan of exploring the city's vibrant cocktail scene, drawing from her experience as a bartender during her college years.
Dr. Winchester completed her undergraduate studies at Columbia College at Columbia University, receiving a full academic scholarship as an honored John Jay Scholar. While pursuing her studies, she worked in a genomics lab conducting bench research.
After her undergraduate education, Dr. Winchester took a two-year break to work in clinical research. She initially worked for Dr. Chan, exploring the role of genetic mutations in sensorineural hearing loss, and then focused on clinical research projects involving virology and the spread of disease at the NYULH Department of Emergency Medicine. Despite her busy schedule, she also tutored high school students in preparation for the SAT/ACT while applying to medical schools herself. Dr. Winchester attended NYU Grossman School of Medicine’s accelerated 3-year pathway and is training in the Department of Otolaryngology. After residency, she hopes to pursue a fellowship in Neurotology.
Throughout her academic journey, Dr. Winchester has always been passionate about mentorship. She has tutored middle schoolers in science and math and assisted them with SAT/ACT preparation and college essays. While in medical school, she was involved in admissions, participating in the NYU multiple mini interview process.

Dr. Kumar loves watching football. He has been a Bengals fan all his life and tries to watch every game. He saw their first playoff win in 31 years in person recently. He also loves trying new food and has recently started cooking more (and welcomes food recommendations!).
Dr. Kumar’s academic journey began at the University of Southern California, where he was part of the prestigious Resident Honors Program. This program allowed him to attend college one year early with a partial-tuition scholarship, demonstrating his exceptional academic abilities
Dr. Kumar graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in neuroscience and a minor in business finance from USC. Notably, he was one of the youngest students in his graduating medical school class. He earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, where he demonstrated a passion for leadership and mentorship.
He has worked as a research assistant at USC, where he conducted research under the guidance of Dr. Judith Hirsch. He also worked as a paid research fellow at the National Institutes of Health, where he modified a dichoptic learning task to alleviate suppression in amblyopic individuals.

Dr Gupta’s higher education journey began at Duke University, where he graduated summa cum laude with a degree in biomedical engineering, earning departmental distinction for his exceptional academic performance. He has also served as a Duke University alumni interviewer, providing him with insider knowledge into the key ingredients of a successful interview.
Driven by his passion for the intersection of medicine and technology, he worked as a bioengineer at the Maryland Development Center for over three years. In this role, he contributed to the development of ultrasound and trauma wound management systems, underscoring his commitment to advancing patient safety, quality improvement, and innovation in healthcare.

Dr. Clark enjoys EDM music and traveling the country to music festivals with her fiancé. They have a cat named Frank and a Husky-German Shepherd mix named Gator (after their favorite team mascot, the Florida Gators!).
Born and raised in Clearwater, Florida, Dr. Clark always knew she wanted to be a veterinarian. Her passion for animals led her to the University of Florida for her undergraduate studies, where she double-majored in animal science and Spanish language and was a member of the Delta Zeta sorority. Dr. Clark not only excelled academically, but gained valuable hands-on experience by volunteering at local small animal clinics and working overnight shifts as a research assistant on a canine gene therapy study.
In her junior year, Dr. Clark was in a car accident that left her unable to walk for six months. Despite this adversity, she preserved and achieved a 4.0 GPA. At the end of her senior year, she was awarded the Greek Academic Achievement Award—the highest academic honor in Greek Life, awarded to only one candidate annually.
After being admitted to several veterinary schools across the country, Dr. Clark decided on a new adventure and moved to California to attend the University of California Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. She focused her studies on the small animal track and used her time away from studies to explore California and have unique experiences that kept her motivated.
Dr. Clark understands that there is no one “formula” to get admitted to veterinary school. As an admissions coach, she is passionate about guiding prospective veterinary students, believing that authenticity and personal growth are key to success. Dr. Park is a former amateur boxer who has had the chance to box in Georgia and Vietnam.
Dr. Park graduated summa cum laude from the University of Georgia with the highest honors and a research distinction. At UGA, he rowed for the UGA Crew Team, led over 8 campus organizations, led the genetic engineering team to a gold medal at an international competition against >300 teams, interned at the Institute for Disaster Management, established the UGA STEM Research Alliance, and was awarded the Presidential Award of Excellence as one of the overall top 1% graduate students. He also had several international study and healthcare experiences in South Korea, Spain, and Vietnam as a Freeman-Asia Scholar and a visiting student intern.
At Vanderbilt, Dr. Park led several mentoring, patient care, and advocacy initiatives. He was the director of the Shade Tree Plastic Surgery & Wound Care clinic, which provides free care to underserved patients who require plastic surgery procedures and wound care in Nashville, TN. To improve patient care and access, he served as a subcommittee leader on the Vanderbilt Medical Center’s High-Value Care Committee and as a board member of the Vanderbilt Tennessee Medical Association chapter. He mentored students from various backgrounds and interests when he served as the leader of the Plastic Surgery Interest Group. During this time, he also served as a medical writer for the Journal of Medical Insight.
Before residency, he also completed a dual research fellowship as a fully funded Vanderbilt Medical Scholar in Plastic Surgery and Hematology/Oncology, where he researched patient-reported outcomes measures, biomedical ethics, and immune checkpoint inhibitors. This research resulted in >20 publications, numerous podium and poster presentations at national and international meetings, several major international studies, and a grant from the National Center for Advancing Translational Science. Several of his works were published in high-impact journals such as JAMA Pediatrics and featured in news outlets.
As a first-generation physician and the son of immigrant parents, Dr. Park has the lived experience to help guide others who are on a similar path. Dr. Hasjim received his undergraduate and medical education from UC Irvine and a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation from Northwestern University. During his undergraduate years at UC Irvine, Bima developed a proven track record of academic productivity and service to the community. For his work in research, community service, and academic achievements, he was awarded Excellence in Research Honors and the Chancellor’s Award of Distinction – given to only 28 undergraduate students out of 8,662 students in the graduating class. When Bima matriculated into medical school at UC Irvine, he found his calling in surgery and was awarded the Dr. J. Gordon Hatfield Department of Surgery Award and the Vincent P. Carroll, Jr. Award for Outstanding Research upon graduation.

Having completed his medical education at the UNC School of Medicine as a FIRST Scholar in just three years, Dr. Mabe is familiar with the challenges and opportunities faced by aspiring medical students. Dr. Mabe has worked with many premedical students in varying capacities on their journey to medical school. Dr. Laurente's journey to becoming a dentist began in her hometown of Portland, Oregon. She graduated from the University of Portland with a BS in biology, along with minors in neuroscience and chemistry. She discovered her passion for mentoring and teaching while working as a student tutor for biology and chemistry courses and as a teaching assistant in the microbiology labs. These experiences laid the foundation for her future role as a guide and mentor to aspiring dental students.

Dr. Lopez then accepted a tenure-track Assistant Professor position at Midwestern University's College of Veterinary Medicine and was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure. She began working with the CDFA as the team lead for AUS's Surveys and Studies team, which aims to provide veterinarians and producers with evidence-based research to optimize antimicrobial use in food animals to mitigate the growing public health threat of antimicrobial resistance.
Dr. Lopez has taught or coordinated over 15 veterinary courses and clinical rotations, creating two pre-clinical electives and a 4th-year elective clinical rotation. During her tenure at MWU, she also contrived a program to help cultivate competent and confident veterinarians to enter food animal practice by enhancing veterinary student exposure to career prospects in rural food animal veterinary practice. She accomplished this by initiating a collaborative partnership with the Navajo Nation in which MWU provides veterinary care to the reservation's livestock.
