The best fun fact about Catherine is that she has completed over 350 items on her life bucket list! Her favorite bucket list item to check off was becoming an ordained minister. She also loves attending music festivals, hanging out with her two wiener dogs named Ranger and Chevy, and traveling.
Catherine attended a top private school for high school in the Kansas City area and was a double letterman, captain of the Pom Squad, and a nationally recognized Speech and Debate champion. She attended the University of Tulsa in Oklahoma on merit and grade-based scholarships. During her time in undergrad, she completed her Bachelor of Biology (pre-med) with minors in chemistry and creative writing. Catherine was deeply involved on campus, serving as President and Vice President of various clubs, a University Ambassador, and Executive Director of Springfest. She graduated with honors and successfully defended her research project on elder abuse in America.
Catherine then took two gap years to further her research on elder abuse, culminating in a TEDx talk that was published on the official TED website and cited in college courses. She worked full-time, first as a recruiter specifically for veterinarians and then as an executive assistant in a veterinary corporation, working closely with the Chief People Officer, Chief Legal Officer, and Chief Executive Officer. During this time, Catherine gained extensive experience in employment contracts, recruiting, and corporate veterinary medicine.
Catherine was accepted to Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine with a scholarship. She served as Secretary of the Pathology Club, Vice President of the Behavior Club, and as both an Accreditation Ambassador and University Ambassador for the vet college. She is currently completing the Purdue DEI certification for vet students. Catherine also works as a Team Lead for an entrepreneurship program with the ISU College of Business to further her interest in business management and consulting.

Derek owned a boat before he owned a car! He loves fishing for largemouth bass and has competed in fishing tournaments.
Additionally, Derek was admitted to NYU’s Accelerated Three-Year MD Pathway for Neurosurgery, allowing him to complete medical school in three years and offered direct progression into the NYU neurosurgery residency program. Historically, a maximum of one person is selected for this honor each year.
Derek had a highly successful medical school admissions cycle, receiving 17 acceptances. Of these acceptances, 14 were part of the top 20 medical schools. He also received full cost-of-attendance merit scholarships and full-tuition merit scholarships at five and four of these top 20 schools, respectively.
Prior to medical school, Derek attended Georgia Institute of Technology as a Stamps President’s Scholar, where he studied neuroscience and graduated with the highest honors. He conducted memory research at Georgia Tech and also pursued neurodegenerative disease research at the NIH, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, and MD Anderson Cancer Center.

She recently spent nearly two years in Spain supporting teachers in public primary and secondary schools through the Council on International Educational Exchange as an English language and cultural assistant.

She was named one of five UCLA Seniors of the Year, recognizing her exceptional academic achievements and commitment to her community. Diane served as the Marketing Director and Mentorship Director of Collaboration in Undergraduate Research Enrichment (CURE) at UCLA During her tenure at UCLA’s Asian Pacific Health Corps, she served as Finance Director, Internal Director, and Programs Director.
After graduating, Diane took a gap year to pursue anesthesiology research at Stanford University. She is currently working with LIU’s virologist to develop genome maps and a diagnostic protocol. Haley also works as a veterinary technician in Connecticut and New York. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Lasell University with a dual degree in Biological Science and Chemistry.
While at LU, Haley held the position of President of Philanthropy in the Student Alumni Association, earning her the Summer Student Stipend Award. After graduation, she began her veterinary medicine journey at Orange Veterinary Hospital in Connecticut, where she served as a valued veterinary technician and, later, a student ambassador for United Veterinary Care.
Haley's passion for animals has always been strong; she spent her childhood watching Steve Irwin and documenting local animals.
