Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Jenna's journey to veterinary medicine began when she moved to California to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at Santa Clara University. Despite her initial focus on chemistry, Jenna's academic interests expanded, leading her to graduate with double majors in biochemistry and English and a minor in biology. Her academic excellence was recognized with her induction into the English Honors Society Sigma Tau Delta, and she cherishes her time as an active member of Rho Psi Eta, a pre-health sorority.

Throughout her education, Jenna has gained diverse experience through volunteer work at animal shelters in Honolulu and Santa Clara, a small animal GP/Rehabilitation clinic, and a high-quality, high-volume spay and neuter clinic. She has also accumulated approximately 1.5 years of combined full-time experience working as a Kennel and Veterinary Assistant at a small animal and exotics ER/GP. In these roles, Jenna has had the opportunity to work with a wide range of animals, including dogs, cats, birds, bunnies, guinea pigs, rats, turtles, and chameleons. She is committed to continuing her work with all types of animals throughout her veterinary career.

Jenna also served as a Health Professions Peer Advisor, where she was part of an Advisory Committee to revamp her university's pre-health advising system. As the Veterinary Representative, she shared her experiences as a pre-vet student and guided the AMCAS and VMCAS application processes. Over two years, Jenna worked with numerous peers, reviewing their application essays and resumes while helping them target schools that aligned with their goals. She takes pride in her ability to recognize and highlight the qualities of each applicant, making the application process more seamless and effective.

Jenna's passion for veterinary medicine is deeply personal. It stems from her experience with her beloved dachshund, Lucy, who suffered from Intervertebral Disk Disease (IVDD). The years of care, therapy, and support that followed Lucy's emergency surgery reinforced her commitment to animal welfare and veterinary medicine. Today, Lucy is a happy and feisty seventeen-year-old dog who continues to inspire Jenna's journey.

Before attending PA school, Jewels attended Dakota State University, where she spent three years as a human anatomy tutor and two years as an undergraduate research assistant before graduating with a degree in human biology. Jewels combines her passion for mentoring with a deep understanding of the PA application process. She breaks down complex concepts and provides expert guidance to help students overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.

Jewels' wealth of knowledge and expertise, gained from both her professional career as a neurosurgery physician assistant and her academic experiences, makes her an invaluable source of knowledge for aspiring PAs. Joann has a strong interest in diversity, equity, and inclusion. During her undergraduate education, she served as the Chairwoman of the DEI Committee and has continued these efforts as the Co-Chair of the DEI committee at Yale. Her commitment to DEI is further recognized through her receipt of the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Scholarship, which awarded her full tuition coverage.

Joann's passion for mentorship began during her sophomore year when she started a YouTube channel about her journey to getting accepted into PA school. This platform allowed her to connect with aspiring PA students and provide informal guidance and advice. She has since mentored many students and is eager to continue helping others achieve their goals.

Joann's experience in healthcare is extensive, with over 3,000 hours of patient care experience across various specialties, including inpatient obstetrics and emergency medicine. Her ultimate goal is to work in an underserved community, where she can apply her knowledge and skills to make a positive impact on the health and well-being of those in need.

Her journey to becoming a physician assistant began at Duquesne University, where she earned her undergraduate degree in health management systems with a minor in supply chain management. During her time at Duquesne, she gained clinical experience working as a patient care technician and medical assistant at various hospitals in Pittsburgh. This exposure to the clinical world of healthcare had a lasting impact on her, shaping her desire to pursue a career in patient care.

After graduating from Duquesne, Johanna worked as an IT systems analyst for Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, becoming certified in EPIC software. She also pursued her Master of Business Administration degree with a focus in healthcare administration from Seton Hill University while working full-time. However, two years into her IT career, Johanna felt a strong desire to transition into the clinical aspect of healthcare.

Johanna was then accepted into Seton Hill University's physician assistant program. Her current role as a PA in cardiothoracic surgery is multifaceted, involving acute care in the hospital, clinic work in an outpatient setting, and working in the operating room. Johanna's passion for physician assistant studies is evident in her commitment to helping others join the ever-growing field.

As a mentor, Johanna brings a blend of administrative and clinical experience to her role. Her understanding of the healthcare system, combined with her passion for patient care, positions her well to guide aspiring physician assistants through the challenges of PA school and the application process. Johanna is excited to share her knowledge and expertise with those eager to join the physician assistant profession.

Jonathan is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University, where he majored in Neuroscience. While an undergraduate, he did extensive basic and clinical research in the fields of Neurology, Orthopedics, and Anesthesiology. After graduating with Honors, he completed his MD at Hofstra-Northwell School of Medicine, where he performed research in Anesthesiology and participated in a healthcare administrative internship.

Jonathan also served as a member of the Admissions Committee while at the Hofstra-Northwell School of Medicine, both for the MD and BS/MD programs. He was intimately involved in the application process, where he interviewed numerous candidates and gained extensive training in application review. Jonathan is currently a resident in Anesthesiology at New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell. He has published papers on infection prevention and quality improvement protocols during residency.

Jonathan has spent time in healthcare administration and intends to pursue this extensively after completing his residency, giving him a unique perspective of the high-level changes in healthcare applicable to incoming applicants. Jonathan has also founded his own start-up company dedicated to infection prevention in the healthcare setting. The company has filed patents, raised seven figures in investment dollars, and is bringing products to the market at large. He was the winner of Innovate LI, Innovator of the Year award for his work on the company.

Jordan completed her Bachelor of Science at Azusa Pacific University before earning her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the Duke University School of Medicine. During her time at Duke, she was an active participant in many service projects, including volunteering with the Ronald McDonald House and serving the local community. Her rotation at St. Jude's Hospital further honed her skills and deepened her passion for medicine, solidifying her commitment to making a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable patients. She also participated in medical missions in Peru and Mexico, providing much-needed care to underserved patients. 

In addition to her commitment to serving underserved and vulnerable communities, Jordan is deeply passionate about supporting students. With five years of experience as a mentor, she has guided numerous students through the PA application process and offered invaluable academic advice on the best prerequisite courses. 

Jordan’s unwavering passion for medicine, coupled with her relentless work ethic and commitment to excellence, inspires her to mentor the next generation of PAs. She encourages them to make distinctive contributions to the healthcare system and to stand out as compelling applicants. Before attending Gannon University’s PA program, Jordan earned her Bachelor's degree in athletic training from the University of Texas at Austin, and gained a year’s worth of experience as an orthopedic technician.

Jordan’s extensive history in leadership and mentorship extends beyond Gannon University to include her leading a mentor-based seminar course for college freshmen at her alma mater. 

She also recently wrote a literature review on Commotio Cordis in Athletics that has been approved for publication in a peer-reviewed medical journal.

Jordan's strength lies in her robust leadership and mentorship roles, which she leverages to guide and inspire aspiring physician assistants. This passion for teaching and mentorship is complemented by her experience as an evaluator in physician assistant program interviews for prospective students.

Joseph’s research experience not only deepened his knowledge of the medical field but also provided him with firsthand insights into the rigorous preparation required for medical school admissions. Since then, Joseph has counseled numerous students on the admissions process, guiding them through each step with a personalized approach that has led to great success. With over two years of tutoring experience in admissions prep and one and a half years as a substitute teacher in public schools, Judith has mastered her skills in providing personalized support and guidance. Born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, Judith moved to the United States with her family at a young age. Growing up in rural Central California, Judith faced many challenges as an immigrant, including learning a new language and translating for her parents. Despite this, she remained active in various clubs and organizations throughout her academic career, including the band club, pre-dental club, art club, and fitness groups. Judith's diverse experiences have shaped her perspective and strengthened her ability to connect with students from all backgrounds.

Julia's academic journey began at Duke University, where she graduated cum laude with a degree in chemistry and a minor in Chinese. She later studied at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, where she pursued her passion for clinical care and research in the fields of cardiology and endocrinology.

Julia's approach to tutoring and advising is rooted in the belief that each student is different, and she consistently tailors her sessions to best fit the needs of each individual. Her patience, empathy, and commitment to her students' success set her apart as a mentor and guide. Julia takes pride in being accessible and available to her students, providing support not only in academics and test preparation but also in helping them manage their nerves and build confidence before exams and interviews. Julia completed her undergraduate studies in biomedical sciences at CUNY City College of New York. Following graduation, Julia took a hiatus from academics to pursue her passion for entrepreneurship, demonstrating her diverse skill set and ability to balance multiple commitments.

At Long Island University's College of Veterinary Medicine, Julia not only excelled in her studies but also actively sought out leadership positions within the institution. She is driven by a strong belief in the importance of diversity and inclusion for the advancement of the veterinary field, demonstrating her commitment to making a positive impact beyond her academic achievements. She has over a decade of experience in the handling of small domestic animals in various settings.

As an admissions coach, Julia brings an individualized perspective shaped by her non-traditional path and diverse experiences. Her greatest strengths include establishing checkpoints throughout the application process to ensure candidates stay on track, revising application materials to appeal to a variety of admissions committees, and guiding students in making optimal school selections based on their professional interests.

Having earned his Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biochemistry and Biophysics from Yale University, Justin is now an MD/PhD candidate at the Yale School of Medicine. 

Throughout his time in medical school, Justin has remained actively engaged in the academic community, serving on the admissions committee and taking an active role in numerous mentorship and tutoring programs. His experience spans from helping undergraduates prepare for the MCAT, reviewing application essays, to offering guidance during the interview process. 

Justin's passion lies in fostering future medical professionals. He has mentored a variety of students from diverse backgrounds, helping them excel and gain acceptance into medical programs. He is dedicated to not only helping applicants succeed, but also encouraging them to become influential leaders in the medical field.

Accepted to several prestigious institutions, Kaila chose to pursue her DMD at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Her academic achievements and diverse experiences position her as a highly knowledgeable and effective counselor for aspiring dental students.

Kaila is committed to being the mentor she wishes she had, providing comprehensive guidance to aspiring dental students as they navigate the complexities of the application process. Mentoring and advising pre-dental students are some of Kaila’s greatest passions. Her own experiences and challenges throughout her journey to and through dental school motivate her to help others achieve their dreams in dentistry.

As a coach, Kaila's strength lies in her ability to streamline the dental school application process for pre-dental students, making it more manageable and less overwhelming. She excels at creating an organized and efficient approach, helping students complete their applications with confidence. Her systematic method ensures that each student receives tailored support, empowering them to present their best selves during the application process.

Kaila’s dedication to mentorship, comprehensive understanding of the dental school application process, and empathy make her an invaluable source of knowledge for pre-dental students.

Kali's undergraduate career was marked by extensive involvement in extracurricular activities, including club soccer, serving as a UNHHealth and Wellness Mental Health intern, peer wellness educator, and student admissions ambassador. She also founded the university's first mental health peer education curriculum and "The Voices of UNH," a narrative-based initiative focused on mental health awareness.

Before medical school, Kali spent two gap years as the primary clinical research coordinator for three studies in the psycho-oncology department at Dartmouth Health. During this time, she became a certified hospice volunteer and a "Survivors of Suicide Loss" speaker and support group facilitator with the NH chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). 

At Duke, Kali demonstrated her leadership and commitment to community health. She served as VP of Duke HealthCares, a student-led initiative assisting formerly incarcerated individuals in navigating the healthcare system. Her work in this area earned her the Chancellor's Service Fellowship. Kali was also on the executive board of the First Generation, Low Income Student Organization, served as a patient advocate for Duke's Black Maternity Health Equity Initiative, and was a member of Hand2Hold, which 3D prints devices for persons with hand amputations in Durham.

Academically, Kali is involved in orthopedic oncology research, examining social determinants of health and oncological outcomes among Sarcoma patients, as well as foot, ankle, and spine deformity research.

Kali’s non-traditional path to medicine has given her a specialized perspective that she is eager to share with all aspiring medical students. With her diverse experiences, strong academic background, and genuine passion for making the medical school application process more accessible, Kali is well-equipped to guide and support pre-medical students on their journey to becoming physicians.

Karin’s passion for counseling stems from her own experience of not completing high school in the U.S. and the challenges she faced in adjusting to the educational system. With the incredible support of friends and mentors, she navigated these challenges and is motivated to give back by guiding others.

Born in Iran, Karin immigrated to San Jose, California after high school, where she began her academic journey at West Valley College, earning associate degrees in biology and chemistry. She then transferred to UC Berkeley, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in molecular and cell biology. During her time at UC Berkeley, Karin gained research experience in Dr. Werb's laboratory in the Department of Anatomy at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Her research focused on neutrophils and the innate immune system, demonstrating her interest in the complex interactions between cells and their environments.

After graduating from UC Berkeley, Karin joined the Diaz Lab in the Neurosurgery Department at UCSF as a staff research associate. Her research in the Diaz Lab involved applying molecular approaches to identify pathways involved in glioma progression, further solidifying her expertise in molecular biology and cell biology.

Karin worked towards her PhD thesis project in Dr. Bush's laboratory, focusing on understanding how mesenchymal cell polarity is established and how it is coordinated during the morphogenesis of craniofacial structures. This research reflects her passion for understanding the intricate processes that govern cellular behavior and development.

Karin is proficient in histology, cell culture, flow cytometry, staining, and DNA extraction. Her strong research background and dedication to mentorship make her an ideal guide for students navigating the complexities of scientific research and the medical school application process.

One of Karin’s greatest strengths lies in helping students tailor their applications to reflect their personal experiences and goals. She ensures that each application is crafted for the specific school, making it both personal and compelling.

Karin begins each counseling session by getting to know the students, understanding their background, and learning why they are applying to specific schools. This allows her to provide personalized advice and address their concerns step by step, ensuring a focused and effective counseling session.

As a first-generation immigrant in one of the 13 schools offering a dual degree program in dentistry, Karin brings a unique perspective and understanding of the challenges that students from diverse backgrounds face. Her experience allows her to connect with students on a personal level, guiding them through the complexities of the application process.

His academic journey began at the University of Southern California, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in neuroscience with a minor in healthcare studies. During his undergraduate studies, Karthik demonstrated a strong commitment to research and community service. He worked as a synaptic electrophysiology research assistant, an ambulance EMT, and a vice president for a student-run veteran’s rehabilitation organization. During the summer, he worked as a private tutor, helping local students in his community and honing his coaching skills.

Karthik's experience in the pharmaceutical industry includes working as a business development intern for Neurocrine Biosciences, where he screened academic institutes and upcoming startups for novel neuropsychiatric therapeutics. He also served as a clinical case investigator during the COVID-19 pandemic, triaging outbreaks in the LA Unified School District community.

Karthik earned a Master’s degree in stem cell biology from USC, where he explored the prospect of new stem-cell-based methods for use in antifibrotics and next-generation (CAR) cell therapy. He worked as a lab assistant for kidney organoid research at USC.

Karthik worked at City of Hope as a clinical genetics assistant, supporting genetic counseling and precision medicine for patients facing cancer. Karthik is interested in clinical trial equity, cancer outcomes, immuno-oncology therapeutics, and the power of venture capital in advancing medicine.

Katherine graduated cum laude from UC Davis in 2017 with a B.S. in Microbiology and a minor in Managerial Economics. As an undergraduate, she worked as a research assistant in a cardiovascular tissue engineering lab and as a veterinary technician at Davis’s Large Animal ICU, which she still holds today. She has also worked in small animal and private equine practices, and she has experience rehabilitating and retraining abused horses. She has a passion for equine medicine and hopes to one day work in veterinary academia as a large animal surgeon and musculoskeletal research professor.

Katherine held many leadership positions in veterinary school, including co-president of the Veterinary Emergency Response Team, Student Activities Treasurer of the Student American Veterinary Medical Association, and the student representative for the California Veterinary Medical Reserve Corps (CAVMRC) Steering Committee. Her leadership work has been just as extensive in graduate school, serving on admissions committees and the SVM Research Committee and Community Council.

Katherine loves serving as a mentor. She has experience in private tutoring, guiding middle and high school students on career path development, and mentoring undergraduate researchers and other visiting scholars. She is eager to meet the up-and-coming generation of veterinary medicine and happy to provide any insights she can about the application process.

Keith's academic background includes a Bachelor's degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from Clemson University in South Carolina. During his two gap years after graduating from Clemson, he gained clinical experience working as a medical scribe in the Emergency Department and as a medical assistant in a family medicine outpatient office.

At Stony Brook University, Keith took on significant leadership roles. He served as the Dean's Advisory Committee representative for the PA program and sat on the PA program's admissions committee as a student interviewer. His involvement in the admissions process has provided him with knowledge strategies for what makes a strong applicant. Keith was on the admissions committee for over two years, participating in interviews alongside current faculty and alumni.

Keith is affiliated with both the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the New York State Society of Physician Assistants (NYSSPA), demonstrating his commitment to professional development and community engagement within the PA profession.

As a mentor, Keith looks forward to working with students who are passionate about pursuing a career as a PA. He values hard work and collaboration, aiming to develop the best applicant possible through his guidance. Some of his greatest strengths as a coach include helping candidates decide on schools to apply to, editing personal statements, and preparing for interviews.

Ken's journey in the medical field began at Chapman University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in athletic training while also being a member of the football team. His passion for sports medicine and dedication to his studies led him to pursue a graduate assistant athletic trainer position at California State University Fullerton upon graduation. There, he worked with the men's wrestling team for two seasons while simultaneously earning his MS in kinesiology with an emphasis on sports performance and sports psychology.

For six years, Ken worked as an assistant and eventually became the Director of Athletic Training at Servite High School. His experience in this role further solidified his desire to pursue a career as a Physician Assistant. Ken made the decision to attend Marshall B. Ketchum University (MBKU) in Fullerton for his PA education. He graduated from MBKU with a PA certificate and an MMS. Following graduation, Ken worked in general orthopedic surgery for several years before joining his current practice, where he specializes in physical medicine and rehabilitation.

Throughout his career, Ken has demonstrated a strong commitment to mentoring and guiding aspiring PAs through the admissions process. As the Vice President of the Pre-PA club at MBKU, he gained extensive experience editing essays and resumes, and administering mock interviews. Ken's personal struggle with the application cycle, which lasted three years before he received the necessary feedback to improve his application, has fueled his passion for helping others navigate the complex and competitive world of PA admissions.

Ken's approach to mentoring is centered on providing personalized guidance and support to each applicant. He takes the time to understand their strengths, experiences, and goals, and works closely with them to develop a strong application that showcases their potential as future PAs. He tries to understand how well-rounded each applicant is before diving into the counseling session. He assesses their strengths and weaknesses and offers ways to improve their application. He tends to be very meticulous and firmly believes that every detail matters.

Kendal is a highly skilled and compassionate certified physician assistant who focuses on inpatient neurology at Union Health. Her journey in the medical field began at Indiana State University, where she obtained her undergraduate degree in psychology with a minor in chemistry, graduating summa cum laude. During her undergraduate years, Kendal also worked part-time as a certified nursing assistant at a local nursing home, where she discovered her passion for geriatric care.

Driven by her desire to make a meaningful impact in the lives of her patients, Kendal continued her studies at Indiana State University, graduating from their PA program. Her exceptional performance and dedication led her to accept a position in inpatient neurology at Union Health shortly after graduation. In this role, Kendal provided compassionate medical expertise to her patients, utilizing her knowledge and skills to improve their quality of life. Recognizing her potential for leadership and her commitment to excellence, her employer provided her with the opportunity to pursue an MD in healthcare administration, which she completed.

Alongside her clinical work, Kendal is passionate about mentoring current and prospective students in the PA field. Since her second year as a practicing PA, she has been a preceptor for Indiana State University, guiding and inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals. Kendal has also had the privilege of mentoring several undergraduate students interested in the PA field, providing them with insider tips and hands-on experience through shadowing opportunities. She has also shared her expertise by teaching several neurology lectures to PA students in their didactic year, further demonstrating her commitment to education and professional development.
