After determining he was interested in attending the Zucker School of Medicine, among other schools, Cameron took an honest look at his medical school profile and realized he didn’t have as many clinical experiences to add. Since the Zuker School of Medicine’s curriculum emphasizes early patient exposure and seeks applicants who’ve tested their motivation to pursue medicine, Cameron was concerned that the gaps in his profile wouldn’t make him a competitive candidate. That’s when he sought us out for help!
We began by reassuring Cameron that many applicants have fears about the strength of their applications, thanks to generally low acceptance rates at the nation’s top schools. After learning more about Cameron’s goals, preferences, and needs, we conducted a meticulous profile evaluation to identify potential gaps. From there, we helped Cameron find meaningful shadowing experiences and a position volunteering at a hospice.
Cameron was admitted to the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell through EDP.
