Asmaa loves to spend her free time playing tennis, reading fiction, bouldering, exploring and hiking in the Bay Area, laying in the sun, laughing with friends and family, eating spicy food, and spending money on overpriced vanilla oat lattes.
Asmaa graduated from Indiana University with two degrees in biology and international studies, with a focus on global health. After completing her undergraduate education, she worked on various research projects investigating the pathogenesis of Uterine Leiomyoma, gut-brain axis etiologies for obesity, and comparative differences of implicit bias in US and UK healthcare systems. These experiences nurtured her passion for mentoring students.
After graduating, Asmaa spent a year working as a medical associate at Roche Diagnostics and volunteering at Trinity Free Clinic in her hometown. While working on her master’s thesis, Asmaa focused on identifying admission rates, readmission rates, and risk factors for dermatology-related hospitalizations for those experiencing homelessness in the US. This research reflects her dedication to addressing health disparities and promoting health equity, further showcasing her dedication to making a positive impact in the field of medicine.
During her undergraduate years, Asmaa was heavily involved in campus life, participating in various organizations such as TEDx, Advocates for Science, Wells Volunteer and Activism Effort, IU Journal of Undergraduate Research, and IU Student Government. These experiences not only enriched her perspective but also equipped her with the skills necessary to guide and support aspiring medical students.
Asmaa's passion lies in helping others find their own path to medical school while advocating for social justice and health equity. Her strengths as a mentor encompass her leadership and advocacy skills, which have been honed through her diverse experiences and interests. In her free time, Olivia enjoys running, hiking, yoga, and pilates. She has run two half-marathons, including one in Joshua Tree, which is hosted in the dark.
Olivia grew up in Los Angeles and attended UC Berkeley for her undergraduate education. There, she received two degrees in public health and integrative biology, laying the foundation for her future pursuits in healthcare and research. At Berkeley, Olivia explored Public Health through her coursework and through her work in a student-run clinic, the Suitcase Clinic, as well as through advising on-campus health policy. She worked as a Wellness Coordinator for the clinic, providing mental health first aid to unhoused members of the Berkeley community. She also worked alongside UC Berkeley administrators to edit Title IX policies and host events to protect sexual health on campus.
After graduating from UC Berkeley, Olivia gained experience in the field by conducting infectious disease surveillance research for the California Emerging Infections Program in the Bay Area. Her contributions demonstrated her ability to apply her knowledge and skills to real-world public health challenges. Additionally, Olivia contributed to COVID-19 population health research for the CDC on a national scale.
At the Kaiser Permanente School of Medicine, Olivia has continued to pursue her academic interests through research and quality improvement projects. Her work covers a wide range of topics, including housing access, hepatitis C screening, health insurance for undocumented communities, and blood pressure control. These projects demonstrate Olivia's commitment to addressing the diverse challenges faced by underserved populations and her dedication to finding innovative solutions to complex health problems.
Olivia's strengths lie in her ability to combine her public health background with her medical education to create a holistic approach to patient care and health advocacy. She recognizes the importance of addressing the social determinants of health and works tirelessly to promote policies and interventions that tackle these underlying issues. As a coach, Olivia enjoys working with students of any skill level, sharing her knowledge and expertise to help them develop a deeper understanding of the complex interplay between public health and medicine.
Outside of public health and schooling, Olivia has been a tutor since high school. She has tutored over 100 students on a wide variety of STEM topics and is excited to apply this experience to mentoring students going through the medical school admissions process.

Ally loves spending her free time doing HIIT workouts and hot yoga. She enjoys soaking in the sunshine on the beach, hiking, or exploring new neighborhoods in LA.
Ally graduated summa cum laude from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, where she completed a senior honors thesis. During her undergraduate years, Ally gained valuable experience working as a direct care professional in a group home for adults with disabilities. This role not only exposed her to the challenges and rewards of providing care to vulnerable populations but also strengthened her commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of others through healthcare.
Ally is currently conducting research at the intersection of women's health and diabetes prevention. As a peer tutor with years of experience helping medical students and teaching biology to college students, Ally has honed her ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and provide the support and guidance students need to excel academically. Her recent recognition as a Head Tutor at her medical school is a testament to her exceptional teaching skills.
One of Ally's greatest strengths is her ability to help students craft a powerful narrative throughout their medical school application. She works closely with each student to identify their strengths and experiences, using this information to create a compelling story that captures the attention of admissions committees.
Ally also has experience helping out-of-state students earn acceptance to schools throughout the country. Her time on the student admissions team at UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine recognized as one of the most competitive states for medical school admissions, has equipped her with a deep understanding of what it takes to stand out in a highly competitive applicant pool. Ally loves helping students select schools that fit their goals and encourages them to dream big, providing the support and guidance they need to turn their aspirations into reality.
In addition to her academic and tutoring experiences, Ally served as the supervisor of a group home for three years during the COVID-19 pandemic. In this role, she managed a team of 15 staff members and navigated the complex world of health appointments, insurance, and administrative work for the residents. This experience further honed Ally's leadership skills, adaptability, and ability to thrive in challenging situations, all of which are valuable assets in her work with aspiring medical students.

There are also downstream impacts in the form of lost income and lost career opportunities.
Our team, which is composed of physicians and former admissions committee members, helps you apply to the right schools, create compelling application documents, and ace interviews so that you can have an edge against your peers and achieve your med school dreams.

Most medical schools approach application review holistically, meaning every application component carries weight (although not always equal) in the admission process.
While your academic standing demonstrated through GPA and MCAT scores are a great baseline to bolster your application, a strong medical school application shows your personality, passion, and fit for medicine. Differentiating your application often comes down to the impact of your personal statement, the activities you’ve pursued, and the experiences you’ve gained throughout college. Volunteer, research, and clinical experience are valuable to include and unpack in your application!
Medical schools seek applicants they believe will thrive on campus and positively contribute to the incoming class—those with a proven academic track record, solid interpersonal skills, demonstrated leadership potential, and a genuine passion for medicine.
They also seek applicants with clinical, research, and volunteer experience who’ve tested their motivation to become a physician and understand what the healthcare profession entails. Your professionalism, curiosity, and unshakable character can go a long way in the medical school admissions process!
Most medical schools use rolling admissions, meaning the candidates who submit applications earlier in the cycle are considered first. The best time to submit your med school application is generally as early in the cycle as possible without sacrificing quality.
